Why Join?
Sigma Alpha Iota is an excellent way to make friends with girls who have common intrests in music. We're not all music majors! SAI will help you in the future to come in contact with other musicians all over. We participate in music related fundraisers, service events, socials, and joint recitals with other music fraternities. There are also several scholarship and award opportunities that Sigma Alpha Iota offers its members.
SAI provides many leadership oppertunities. There are many ways for you to fufill one of these leadership roles once you are a sister. The leadership roles let you work your way up so you can be the best you can be and have experience for when you graduate!

We asked current sisters why they decided to join and this is what some of them said:
I joined because it was suggested to me by several friends and acquaintances. I mainly joined because everyone is AWESOME, and the professionalism and tradition came later on as I learned about SAI and went through the Member In Training process.
~Phoebe Miller~
I joined because music is my life and I wanted to be surround by people who had the same love for music.
~Rallia Gettings, alumna~
I joined because music has always been an important part of who I am, and even though I never thought I would join a Greek organization, the Sisterhood has become my family and a way of sharing my passion.
~Aubrey Brown~
I joined SAI because I wanted to be a part of a group that believed in the power of music and loved it as much as I did. I also joined because I thought the girls were fantastic and I could create lifetime friendships.
~Christine Chaney, alumna~
I thought it would be a great opportunity and experience to meet people who have the same love for music as I do :)
~Jessica Delacruz~
I joined to further my love of music with people that have to same love as me.
~Christi Fey~
I joined because it was finally a situation where I felt that people actually really cared about me and that I stood for a purpose. Going through the recruitment process was a major deciding factor because the girls really genuinely cared that I was there, and it made me feel like I should be here with this group of girls:). Also, after looking more into what SAI stood for, it made me really want to spread music around the world and to improve my skill and knowledge of my musical interests, the trumpet and singing. Plus, I believe SAI will allow me to improve my leadership skills. Therefore, with all of these factors, this is why I joined SAI.
~Kellie Thompson~
I don't have any biological sisters, and there really aren't any musicians in my family, so I joined to have that bond with the girls. I also wanted to contribute to the Fraternity and make it even greater than it already is.
~Amber Farish~
I joined because of my love of music and a great desire to see it expanded in the world we live in.
~Jenna Macaione~
I decided to go through recruitment because I was a Freshman and I really wanted to join an organization to meet people. SAI girls stood up in Forum and I thought it sounded great. I was also encouraged to join by many girls in choir. It has been a great experience!
